On 14 April 2026, the board of the GGL Foundation has decided to temporarily suspend new applications of Certification Bodies until 1 October 2026. Since then, GGL has harmonized how certification activities are conducted and is completing significant developments to its GGLedger platform.
The board hereby informs you of its decision that the suspension of new applications by candidate-CB’s will be extended until 1 March 2027.
What does this mean?
This means that any application from new Certification Bodies that is received will not be reviewed by GGL before 1 March 2027.
Since 2024, the GGL Scheme has grown substantially through the activities of the 12 existing GGL Certification Bodies. On 2 March 2026, the new GGL Documentation was adopted, with minor amendments from 7 September 2026. Currently, all 12 of our GGL Certification Bodies are either revising their accreditations or will do so to reflect the new GGL Documentation by 1 March 2027 at the latest.
This decision to extend the suspension will focus all efforts on the new accreditation of the 12 existing GGL Certification Bodies and all the GGL Participants holding a valid certificate as of today.
